Central Europe has been the focus of the group's efforts for 200 years since the project began. Bhandari has relocated to the Hirschfelden area to be able to study the population up close. Most of his time is spent in a lab running tests, but during the autumn season, he spends most of his time at his cabin in southern Tichenau.
The Bison Advisory Organization has done wonders for the species in the reserve and beyond. The bison population in Central Europe has increased dramatically in the last few years, to a point where Bhandari has recommended employing hunters for wildlife population control. This has become increasingly important as Bhandari's recent research has uncovered a rise in disease rates among the bison.
